Razor Pictures and Taodog Productions Celebrate The International Day of the Woman With a Special Screening of “Best Protection”

Razor Pictures and Taodog Productions are pleased to announce a special screening of the short film “Best Protection,” Thursday, March 8, 2007 6 – 8 p.m. at the Lions Gate Studio Screening Room 2700 Colorado Avenue, Suite 200, Santa Monica, CA 90404.

Razor Pictures and Taodog Productions the producers of “Best Protection” are celebrating the International Day of the Woman with a screening of the action packed fantasy, first in film history. It is a short film about two women who begin their struggle over a materialistic object in the pursuit of the best protection, but discover the excitement and challenge of each other’s strength is more motivation to keep the fight alive. “…A dagger fight like this I have never seen on film…These women can act and fight,” Phil Aslaksen.

The film, starring Melissa Tracy and Loren Kinsella, utilizes a blended system of Asian and European fighting systems. Fight coordinator, Phil Aslaksen has choreographed fights using several systems of combat for each action sequence. The combination of expert execution and visually compelling action sequences makes for a unique and entertaining piece. “We wanted to produce a film that would be empowering for women, yet entertaining at the same time, I believe that we have accomplished that,” says Melissa Tracy.

The screening will be a celebration indeed. Doug Simons of TGIC Importers will be on hand offering a wine tasting before and after the screening. The celebration will continue to Holly’s West for a star-studded after-party which will benefit the Elton John AIDS Foundation. Many celebrities will be attending the screening and after-party; Zee James of Everybody Hates Chris, Steve Wyman of Days of our Lives, Gloria Kissel, Carlena Gower, Mrs. Castaic Kim White, Former Miss Switzerland Nadine Vinzens, and Maria Conchita Alonso just to name a few.
