If this weren’t actually happening to this country, it would be laughable. For the first time since the creation of this fine Republic, a US President has bowed before a King! The Washington Times called the alleged bow a "shocking display of fealty to a foreign potentate" and said it violated centuries of American tradition of not deferring to royalty.
Keep your eye on the hand
After this story broke, an anonymous aid said "It wasn't a bow. He grasped his hand with two hands, and he's taller than King Abdullah." Let’s examine that statement. First, you can clearly see the hand of Obama tucked in front of him, which is unusual because lately it’s been tucked in the taxpayer’s pocket. Second, If he bowed because he is taller and couldn’t hear the King, Abdullah must have been talking out of his chest.
The Arab’s loved it. "Obama wished to demonstrate his respect and appreciation of the personality of King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz, who has made one of the most important calls in the modern era, namely the call for inter-faith and inter-cultural dialogue to defuse the hatred, conflict and wars," wrote the columnist, Muhammah Diyab. There are many other ways to show respect, and displaying your subservience to royalty is NOT one of them.
Once again America’s mistake proves why he is, in fact, America’s mistake. Get used to the subservient bowing, this guy’s “Blame America” mantra is just beginning!
