Breaking News:

If you think SB1070… You might be an idiot

by Al S. 31. May 2010 20:35

Perhaps it’s because of the end of a three day weekend, or perhaps that I haven’t had much sleep, but making the rounds on the boards just now has put me in a ‘grumpier than usual’ mood. I’m really tired of having argued for weeks with people out of state that just don’t seem to understand or comprehend what it is that Arizona’s SB1070 is really about.

It started this afternoon when I began responding to a post on ABCNEWS. Some of the people responding were absolutely clueless in their comments and reactions to this legislation. Enough was enough. I deleted the comment and reached the conclusion that people who are so misguided and out of touch with this bill and the why and what it contains are either professional pot-stirrers, or idiots (libiots in this case).

Now, I hate to resort to name calling. I know on many posts I’ve affectionately referred to our illustrious POTUS as America’s mistake, NObama, empty suit, etc., but those are tongue in cheek references embedded in my ‘oh so obvious’ tongue in cheek posts. But this epidemic has reached the point where I decided to create a Jeff Foxworthy-esque list of SB1070 arguments that simply call the pot-stirrers out. There have been SO many opportunities for SB1070 critics to read the bill and actually think for a bit about what it includes. So, if after this amount of time you still don’t get it, then I’m sorry, but you are an idiot!

(Imagine me doing my best Jeff Foxworthy impression)

If you think SB1070 is an anti immigration bill, you might be an idiot. Ask any level headed, responsible person who has actually read and understands the bill if this is aimed at stopping all immigration and they will look at you as if you were, in fact, an idiot. Having worked in IT the last 2 decades, I’ve had the pleasure of working with many immigrants that came here with work visa’s and actively pursued the American dream. Some took the final plunge and became citizens. All of them are more than welcomed by the fine people of Arizona. We are a state of ‘immigrants’. Most of us came to Arizona from some place else (I happen to be a native). We welcome any and all people to this wonderful state… as long as you do it legally!

liberal_idiot If you think SB1070 fosters racial profiling, you might be an idiot. Even before the ink dried on this legislation, the race-baiters were coming out in full force ready to decry the racist elements in this bill. Their argument is based on their perception that this would foster racial profiling. My response: personal prejudices and beliefs can be fostered in ANY law. If police personnel have harbored these thoughts before, then they have already been applied. I would hope that any and all behavior like that is dealt with swiftly and harshly, and that those people would have already been weeded out of the police community. To think that this is suddenly going to turn the entire police force into racists is just idiotic.

If you think SB1070 requires you to carry special ‘papers’, you might be an idiot. This to me is the most laughable language that the libiots use. There are no special papers or documents if you are a citizen of the US. There are no special travel papers required to visit or drive through Arizona. You simply need to show a drivers license or state issued ID if you are pulled over or involved in a crime. What’s that? You don’t have any of those? Oh, well what are you doing out in public without any ID? I guess you deserve to be detained and held up while the police try and verify who you are… citizen or not! Oh, your not a citizen but are here on a work Visa? Did you know that it is federal law to carry your green card or other documentation with you 24/7! That fact there usually quiets them down and they immediately resort to the race card when confronted with that fact.

Like I said, I’m sorry for having resorted to name calling, but if you still cannot see this bill for what it is, an illegal immigration enforcement bill, then I’m afraid you are, in fact, an idiot. Now if you’ll excuse me I’m going to try and get some sleep in hopes that this mood will pass.

SB1070 protesters seek to teach Arizona a lesson by NOT boycotting

by Al S. 27. May 2010 04:30

CAUTION: Laughable moment ahead. We’ve had a lot of fun on this board pointing out the lunacy and down right delusional behavior of our friends on the left, especially regarding SB1070. Right after the bill’s passage, there were threats of boycotts, cancellations, and reprisals.

altoaz Since then, Arizona has lost about $8 in revenue from these empty threat hooligans. So, to really teach us a lesson on how their boycott is going to punish us, they are holding a love-fest in Phoenix on May 29th. I’ve heard estimates from the organizers that tout there will be over 50,000 people in Phoenix on that day to support the boycott. The funny thing is, their showing their support for a boycott by NOT boycotting!

Where are all of these people going to sleep, eat, drink, and otherwise occupy their spare time in our fine state? Let’s do some math, shall we? 50,000 needing lodging for at least one night (cuz, y’know, protesting takes a lot out of you and you need a good solid nights sleep to regain your energy). Conservatively, let’s say that a room costs $75. Some will double up or sleep in their cars, so let’s just say that 15,000 of those 50,000 fine people get lodging. That’s a $1.125 MILLION dollar boost to our hotel industry. Wait… Did I do that right… 15… carry the 1… yep!

Now let’s add in the food costs. For those protesters coming here that may have left their government cheese at home, they will need a place to eat. Again, let’s be conservative (pun intended) and say they only eat 2 meals a day at a cost of $8 / meal. Believe me, these numbers are more than generous on their behalf. That means they will spend at least $1.6 MILLION on food! Now, I’m no math whiz, but that totals a minimum of $2.725 MILLION that this ‘boycott’ will bring into the state over the Memorial Day weekend!

I say bring on the protests and boycott’s! They seem to be helping our state and our cause while at the same time separating lunatics from their money! Look for Mayor Phil Gordon’s booth selling “I’m With Stupid” tee shirts.

Arizona SB1070 – Critics haven’t bothered to read the bill

by Al S. 18. May 2010 01:28

c-nappyseatwarmerLast week we were a bit stunned to find out that the Attorney General Eric Holder had not read the Arizona law, despite making the rounds on the Sunday talking head’s shows and spouting his thoughts on it. This week we learn that Arizona’s former governor and favorite seat warmer, Janet Napolitano, has not read the bill either. That didn’t stop her though from spewing her uninformed and ignorant stance on the bill.

"That's not the kind of law I would have signed," she declared.

"I believe it's a bad law enforcement law. I believe it mandates and requires local enforcement and puts them in a position many do not want to be placed in," Napolitano said.

"When I was dealing with laws of that ilk, most of the law enforcement agencies in Arizona at that time were opposed to such legislation," she claimed.

Laws of what ilk, Janet? How do you know it’s a bad enforcement law if you haven’t bothered to read it? This has to be the smartest administration in history if they can absorb information without reading a physical piece of paper. Perhaps you and Eric can skip the next big Wednesday night hoe-down at the White House, order a pizza, and actually read the bill together. It’s always better in a group, Janet, that way you can help each other out with the big words like “Illegal” and “Enforcement.”

Obama signs Press Freedom Act, then refuses to take questions

by Al S. 17. May 2010 05:41

Man, this is almost too easy. The blatant hypocrisy of this administration has reached laughable proportions, and two recent events bring it right out in the open.

barryxbox Last week, America’s mistake lamented the era of iPads and Xboxes had turned information into a diversion that was imposing new strains on democracy.

"You're coming of age in a 24/7 media environment that bombards us with all kinds of content and exposes us to all kinds of arguments, some of which don't always rank that high on the truth meter," he told the students. "And with iPods and iPads, and Xboxes and PlayStations -- none of which I know how to work -- information becomes a distraction, a diversion, a form of entertainment, rather than a tool of empowerment, rather than the means of emancipation. So all of this is not only putting pressure on you; it's putting new pressure on our country and on our democracy."

For an administration that exploited the media for the last couple of years, this sudden proclamation seems to want to shut them up after the propaganda has been delivered. Does Obama think the Internet has only been around during his administration? How interesting that it’s a fantastic tool for spreading the administrations lies and distortions, but when it starts to catch on and highlight the gross incompetence and outright misleading practices of this regime, suddenly it’s a distraction and should not be taken seriously?

Based on the quote above, we are supposed to believe that Barry is either a moron, or just plain lying. My vote is for the latter. He’s in love with his Blackberry almost as much as he is with himself, and we’re supposed to believe he doesn’t know how to use an iPod or an XBox?

Today, the Teleprompter in Chief signed the Freedom of Press Act. The law requires the State Department to list countries that threaten press freedoms and permit violence against journalists. It "puts us clearly on the side of journalistic freedom," Obama said.

Chip Reid of CBS news then tried to ask, “Speaking of press freedoms,” then proceeded to ask about the gulf oil spill, Obama responded “You are free to ask them,” Obama said. "I'm not doing a press conference today."

California can kiss my AZ

by Al S. 12. May 2010 15:24

In another pathetic attempt to make political correctness a higher priority than enforcing the law, the brain trust that have bankrupted California have now voted to boycott Arizona. I’ll get to the utter ridiculousness of it in a moment, but for now, here’s an excerpt from one of their Community Organizing background elected officials:

Los Angeles on Wednesday became the largest city yet to boycott Arizona over its tough new law targeting illegal immigration in a move that likely will affect some $8 million in contracts with the state.

The City Council voted 13-1 to bar Los Angeles from conducting business with Arizona unless the law is repealed. The vote followed an emotional council discussion during which many members noted that their ancestors were U.S. immigrants.azslogans "Los Angeles is the second-largest city in this country. An immigrant city, an international city needs to have its voice heard," Councilman Ed Reyes said.

"We must say stop… this is a law that we think is wrong. It's going in the wrong direction," Councilwoman Janice Hahn said.

The proposal could affect investments and contracts worth as much as $52 million, including contracts for airport, harbor and trucking services, according to a report from the city's chief legislative analyst. That report recommends the council consider suspending travel, cutting contracts and refraining from making any new ones with Arizona-based companies.

OK, and now for the laughable parts. You have to wonder what diploma mill these ‘geniuses’ got their degrees from, because Constitutional law was certainly not in their curriculum. First of all, Mexifornia… I mean California cannot alter or manipulate airport, harbor and trucking services! It is against federal law to impede interstate commerce! And that’s according to Los Angeles’s chief legislative analyst! Someone should send these LA libiots a copy of the constitution so they can actually speak with some semblance of intelligence. Of course, it’s also against the law to be in this country illegally, and we all know where California stands in support of that!

Don’t these buffoons running California have more pressing issues like the fact their state is bankrupt from their liberal and “illegal” friendly policies? Good luck supplying your cops with TASERs from another company since good ol’ Scottsdale is the only place they're made! I guess they can fight off violent crime with hugs and unicorns.

Don’t piss off Arizona too much, Cali, we might just decide to turn off your water and electricity!

Los Suns need to focus on winning and not Political Correctness

by Al S. 6. May 2010 09:02

Steve Nash, another expert in illegal immigration and it's effects on this state, is proud that the Suns will be sporting their new "Los Suns" attire at tonight's game to show their support for illegal immigration. Personally, I think they're going a little too far:

image

Isn't it great that a guy who makes millions of dollars for putting a ball in a hoop is suddenly an expert on Arizona's illegal immigration problem? He says that the law is 'not the way to go'. So let me get this straight, Steve, actually enforcing federal law is 'not the way to go'? Maybe Nash should focus on actually advancing in the playoffs instead of petering out in the second or third round like they usually do. The team will have plenty of time for philosophizing next week when they'll be off for the summer.

It's pathetic that the owner thinks it's better to be politically correct than just shut up and dribble the ball. Stop trying to appease and just win something for a change. That will grow your fan-base faster than any politically correct garbage ever will.

Politics doesn’t belong in sports, and the misguided leadership of the Suns are doing more to drive fans away than sway people to go along with their jaded and narrow minded view of this law.

Another Dem claims TEA party is biggest threat to America

by Al S. 6. May 2010 08:53

This exchange was between a reporter and Rep. Andre Carson, another ‘head in the sand’ liberal who refuses to call radical Islamic Jihadist’s “Terrorists.” However, he has no problem insulting the good people of this country, and in particular, TEA party members.

KERRY PICKET (Wash. Times): Do you think the people outside are generally dangerous or no?

REP. CARSON: Oh absolutely. I worked in homeland security. I’m from intelligence, and I’ll tell you, one of the largest threats to our internal security…I mean terrorism has an Islamic face, but it really comes from racial supremacist groups. (inaudible) Its the kind of thing we keep a threat assessment on record [for].

PICKET: From groups like this?

REP. CARSON: Oh absolutely.

I think he has redefined the term oxymoron… He worked in intelligence and thinks the great Americans that comprise the TEA parties are the biggest threat to the US? I guess he missed out on some key developments over the last ten years.

He is right about one thing, TEA party members are a huge threat… at the ballot box!
